The first portion of the course will delve into extant cultural practices. The second portion will work on helping students to develop their own frameworks dealing with death and the dead. These will be based on the common elements found throughout the world, but should avoid appropriating anything from cultures that the student themself does not belong to.

We will also discuss the legal and safety issues involved so that students will be able to build a risk aware practice.
